Enterprise and IT
Vocational skills, Placements & Enterprise: Young people will be actively encouraged to take part in planning and making choices about their future. This will be formally evidenced in year 9 at their Individual Person-Centred Review Meeting (involving the young person, their family/carers and key professionals). All students will engage in enterprise activities (whether class based within Key Stages 1 and 2 or more individual self-employment models for those in Key Stage 4 and FE) which will provide students with social, economic and team building skills. From Key Stage 4, there will be varied opportunities to consider different educational pathways (in other educational settings, to supported work placement opportunities).
Enrichment opportunities will support the enterprise curriculum: activities will include Duke of Edinburgh Award and specialist clubs (such as yoga club and chess club). Enrichment programmes will give all students an opportunity to trial new areas that may lead to enterprise, employment, further study or independence (through leisure and/or extended interests).
