Exam & Key Stage Results

Qualifications and Accreditation within Key Stage 4

We will enable all students to gain appropriate nationally recognised qualifications (such as Entry level, BTECs and GCSEs). Qualifications will be carefully selected from a range of exam boards.

Wherever possible students will access GCSEs in English, maths and science. In addition to these core subjects, students will be supported to choose GCSE option subjects from Technology, Humanities and the arts.

For some students, there may be other qualifications, including Functional Skills BTEC from Entry Level, which offer learning opportunities at an appropriate level. To complement accredited qualifications, there will be a broad and balanced curriculum to prepare students for adult life, which includes learning related to personal development and wellbeing, and work-related learning (work experience placements, tasters and workshop). During work-related learning, students will begin to identify areas of personal interest and skills.

At 16, students will be supported to plan to build on identified areas of personal interest and skills. There will be clear pathways that provide an excellent grounding for future higher or further education and skilled employment.
